Lots of hockey left I know, but it would be fun to see if anyone can nail the 1-8 final standings.
1 Saugeen 2 Mapleton 3 Durham 4 Petrolia 5 Tillsonburg 6 Huron East 7 Tavistock 8 Clinton

Looking at each teams scheds. Mapleton appears to have the best route to 1st. The head to heads will be huge but here is my "guestimate" I think Huron east misses and Ripley grabs last spot.
1. Mapleton 2. Winterhawks 3. Petrolia (on a tie break with Tilly) 4. Tillsonburg 5. Clinton (unless they find some players for Fri.) 6. Tavisock (tough five games left with other teams having games in hand) 7. Durham (dont think they are good as current record) 8. Ripley (young up and coming squad)

Three weekends left and things are taking shape. Let's see final predictions.
Saugeen Mapleton Petrolia Durham Clinton Tillsonburg Tavistock Ripley
- I hate to say it but after a promising start building off last year I don't see Huron East getting into the big dance. Frustrating to watch them take a step back.

Frustrating to watch them take a step back. I don't think you're far off, going to be some great first round match ups. As far as the Cents go, it was always going to be a tough go for them. 20 game schedule and 8 of them are against Petrolia, Clinton and Saugeen. That's not an easy task, even though they won a couple of them. Compare their schedule to Ripley and it's night-and-day. It's still possible for the Cents to sneak in, Ripley has a tough final 5 games. They have games against Elora and Shallow Lake that you'd expect them to win, but also have to play Mapleton, Saugeen and Clinton. That would put them at 21 points. Cents remaining schedule is Lucknow, Tavi, Milverton, Tillsonburg and Petrolia. If Ripley goes 2-3 to finish the season, the Cents have to go 4-1 or 3-0-2 to pass the Wolves. Another problem is they play three nights in a row on the final weekend of the season, just to make it tougher on them. It's Ripley's spot to lose, but by no means is it a sure thing. My completely non-binding prediction: 1. Saugeen Shores 2. Mapleton-Minto 3. Petrolia 4. Clinton 5. Durham 6. Tavistock 7. Tillsonburg 8. Ripley --------- 9. Huron East 10. Milverton 11. Shelburne 12. Shallow Lake 13. Elora 14. Lucknow

1. Saugeen Shores (But if 81's win Friday night I move 81's into First) Saugeen down to 2nd. 2. 81's 3. Petrolia 4. Clinton 5. Durham 6. Tilly 7. Royals 8. Ripley

What is the tie breaker should the 81's and Winterhawks be tied at the end of season? Or any other teams in the top 8 ?

What is the tie breaker should the 81's and Winterhawks be tied at the end of season? Or any other teams in the top 8 ? (i) Most wins in regular schedule play, (ii) Win-Loss Record between tied clubs, (iii) Goals for plus goals against divided into goals for = %; The team having thehigher percentage is the winner. Tie break would almost assuredly go to the Winterhawks. If the Winterhawks win both games this weekend (have to beat 81's in regulation), they clinch 1st place. Pretty much the only way Mapleton can finish in 1st is if the 81's win all their remaining games and the Winterhawks lose one to either Durham or Ripley.

I wonder if the hawks will throw a game or 2 like they did in the past to avoid a 2nd round matchup with Clinton? Sure will be a heated matchup from what I gather on the forum.

No, they want to take 1st from Mapleton pretty badly. But look at it this way: Finish 1st, and they likely face Ripley, 35 minutes away. Finish 2nd, and they likely face Tavi (2 hours) or Tilly (3 hours). I don't think it's a sure thing that there won't be a lower seed advance, so no guarantee they'd play Clinton, though that's the most probable way it would play out.

The Winterhawks are playing for the Championship they will have to play what ever team to win it. I do not think the 81's lost the game at Saugeen Shores to get 2nd and I know Saugeen will have to play well to beat them Friday and also Durham Saturday. Maybe it is time to change the format of the playoff instead of 1-8, 2 -7, 3- 6 and 4-5, they let the top teams pick who they what to play though out the playoffs. This would end teams losing games in regular season to play who they want and reward the teams that win. This may make up for better regular season hockey 🏒

I don't know why everyone is saying Clinton is going to be so hard to beat in playoffs. Sure they won it all last year, but a lot has changed compared to this year. They just lost last weekend to Milverton with a decent line up. I put my money on hawks vs 81's final with the hawks taking it in 7.

Of all the predictions, I have to side with 81 Fan. Reporter is close but I think Tills. will win a few more down the stretch and finish ahead of Tavi. Unless Durham and Clinton drop a few in the next weeks they should be 4-5. But, that's why they play the games on the ice and not on paper. Should be an interesting 3 weeks.

1. Saugeen Shores 2. Mapleton-Minto 3. Petrolia 4. Clinton 5. Durham 6. Tillsonburg 7. Tavistock 8. Clinton
Go out and support your local teams take someone a friend or family they will be very surprised at how talented the players are and good this hockey is.
