I am also going to go with a couple of upsets Saugeen 4-0 - Saugeen is loaded and well oiled, too much drama in Durham to pull it together Mapleton 4-2 - Mapleton will have full lineup and I just don't think Tilly has enough depth to compete.. even if Lee stands on his head. Tilly definitely didn't see this match-up coming when they laid down vs Huron East Ripley 4-2 - Petrolia could have laid an egg vs Huron East as well to draw tavi. Instead they put a beat down on a short lineup from Seaforth and get Ripley. I think this will come back to hurt them. Ripley is young, hungry and unlike a lot of other teams, they know how to play in a small barn. Tavistock 4-3 - What I was hoping for, the only first round match-up I saw that could knock off the defending champs. Tavi's goalies have struggled all year but no better time to play big then now. I think Tavi is going to win this relay race and we will see a new WOAA Champ. sorry radar fans

I think Ripley - Petrolia is the series to watch, whole series will be played in tiny rinks, it will be a really good one to watch if you can make it out to a game.

Saugeen 4-1 - looks like matheson didn't get his games in after all. By the sounds of it he would have been a difference maker. Cox appears to be injured as he hasn't played the last few games...a couple big losses to the durham lineup. I do know they compete hard and could perhaps steal one but that's about it.
Mapleton 4-1 - Thunder aren't as stacked as a couple year's ago and I bet minto has some motivation from losing in the finals a few year's ago. Will depend on if both teams can get their lineups to show up but I still think Mapleton will take it.
Petrolia 4-2 - Ripley has won a few games lately but looking at the gamesheets some of their opponents were playing short. They are used to small barns but Petrolia will lay a beat down on them and the kids will fold. I think Petrolia could even take this in 5. Don't think this will be as much of a series as everyone thinks.
Tavistock 4-3 - Obviously a little bias here, but we are peaking and can run and gun with the best of them. Clinton's back end is the weakness (with the exception of Jarmouth) but he hasn't appeared to show up to many game. Tavi's high flying offence can match Clinton's and the D are better. I see this one going the distance and is the series to watch.
Good luck to all teams and let the fun begin!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, but it needs to be clarified that Petrolia did not put a beat down on Huron-East. The game was played out with very little intensity and was just a glorified rec game. If the Cents had come in with a full lineup the game surely would have been played out differently, but a team that is heading to the playoffs can't just lay down without some fundamentals to their game. 9-2 (or whatever the final was) was a very modest outcome. There is no need to defend a team that did what they could with 8 skaters and put a Squires team that had lost three in a row on the noose for simply playing out the game.
As for predictions:
Saugeen in 4 - Appologies to Durham, but Saugeen is way too much. The Winterhawks are deep and can play that gritty playoff style, which will make them a very hard out in a seven game series.
Mapleton in 7 - I believe home ice advantage will be a big thing in this matchup. Maybe not every game, but that final one back on the 81's ice.
Petrolia in 5 - Contrary to popular belief, the Squires will not be upset in Round 1. The Squires are a deep team and are not the goon squad of old that the league/forum still believes they are.
Clinton in 4 - The Dars and Royals could be a high scoring and close series, but I feel Clinton will have the final punch in each game and put Tavistock down in a sweep.

Forgot to mention that those same 8 skaters were likely all playing their 3rd game of the weekend..

"As for your "high flying offense" I doubt your first line will keep up with the Radars fourth line." I agree with most of your comment, but I'm sure most teams in the league would adjust their lineup to include any of the top 6 for Tavistock. Don't discredit them for that. Their defensive game is questionable, but they did lead the league in GF. I'm sure you will change your outlook when you see Lorentz live.

Tavi's goaltending is suspect end of story. You can't win a playoff series with a wigamore and that other midget combo. Radars by a touchdown each game.

LOL the most defensive you guys are is on this forum!
It's just an opinion (and I even did say a bias one) we don't need to here you crying about trying to change mine. As you said this is a new year and a new team. Clinton are the reigning champs so nothing like plowing through them to get the playoffs started! Instead of you showing your bitterness to me why don't you critique your team. Give some pros and cons and predictions instead of getting your undies in a bunch.

Saugeen in 4 is pretty much a no brainer. They are the top team in the North by a large margin. Goaltending will be the question mark as we move forward. Mapleton- Tillsonburg should be fun. Mapleton may have the better team on paper but that doesn't mean much. If Tillsonburg plays with their full lineup they are tough. I will take Palmerston in 7 but I will not be shocked if I am wrong on this one Petrolia in 6. Ripley might have some kids that can score, but they are not deep enough to go the distance Radars in 5. I'm being generous to tavistock. They haven't kept a game close with the Radars in a couple of years

Saugeen's goaltending will be the question mark? ?........They have the top 2 tenders in the league. Both had a .929 save percentage and their combined 2.10 GAA was a goal a game less than the next best. Sinclair already has a championship ring from his days in Elora and Flagler should be rookie of the year if there is such an award. I think their goaltending will be just fine thank you. Saugeen in 4 Mapleton/Minto in 5 Petrolia in 6 (only because I don't think the young players in Ripley will know how to play play-off hockey) Clinton in 6

I think only 1 upset Ripley showed on the weekend they do not quit. They were very close in points to Petrolia in the regular season. Saugeen had no trouble with Durham. Mapleton beat Tillsonburg both times they played. Clinton if they have a full team they should beat Tavistock .
Saugeen Shores over Durham 4 - 0 Mapleton Minto over Tillsonburg 4 - 1 Ripley over Petrolia 4 - 2 Clinton over Tavistock. 4 - 2
Get ready for some good hockey and get out support your team.

Saugeen in 5 - Durham works hard enough to win one at home.
Tillsonburg in 7 - The Thunder have a very similar roster to their championship team when everyone shows up (plus/minus a few). They wanted this match up over Saugeen and Clinton. However, no result in this series would shock me too much.
Petrolia in 6 - Not enough depth scoring for Ripley. Britton, Catto and Davidson need to be monsters to advance.
Clinton in 5 - Clinton is a bit better at everything than Tavistock. The Royals can't expect to play their run and gun style and have any hope here, Radar's top guns pick apart Tavi's back third of the ice.
