The first round is going to have some great matchups where almost anyone can win their series.

Shelbourne - Minto....... I will take Minto in 6
Saugeen - Tilsonburg...... I see upset I take Tilly in 7
Clinton - Seaforth...... I take Clinton in 5

im going to be really wrong. but thats the fun.
ripley in 5... durham gives them a go, but ripley is just too deep.
minto in 7... here's my upset call. trains have been much better since they improved their roster midway thru the year
saugeen in 6... admittedly, i'm not confident in this one. if saugeen has their best lineup, they should win. is peckham playing? hasn't played much lately and they don't win much without him. if the answer is no, tilly wins.
clinton in 6... if you can watch this series, do it. will be high flying hockey. clinton is too deep.

Well how about the results so far! Wow, think about this if Ripley goes out Tues Clinton and Tillsonburg are the top seeds for the semi finals (4th and 6th). 2 and 3 are gone and possibly 1. Although my guts says Ripley prevails. Great playoffs so far.

I will give myself a pat on the back.{lol}. My predictions pretty much bang on so far. As I said at the start " first round has some great matchup's where anybody can win".
My upset of Tilsonburg beating Port Elgin did not surprise me at all, Tilsonburg has a good team and if Lee gets on a role watch out.
My prediction of Minto over Shelbourne also did not surprise me, I've seen Shelbourne play a few times this year and they really aren't that good they just had the benefit of having a weak schedule and thats why they finished so high in the standings, Minto winning is not an upset to me because Minto is just flat out better than Shelbourne.
Clinton beating Seaforth was expected however Seaforth put up a better fight than I thought they would.
I figured that Durham would give a Ripley a go but I wasn't sure that they could win, now I see that they can and it should be a good game 7.
Again, without teams playing a balanced schedule and playing each team the same amount of times the seedings really don't mean diddly and is quite unfair when doling out home ice advantage to teams that finished higher in the standing because of playing a weaker schedule. With Port Elgin very rarely seeing Tilsonburg and not knowing what to expect I am sure that they got their eyes opened pretty quick.
Second round should be a doozy and would be ironic if the 4th,6th,7th, and 8th seeded teams fought it out for the championship

don’t think winter hawks were helped by their best players going on vacation in the middle of the series

don’t think winter hawks were helped by their best players going on vacation in the middle of the series Look at the box scores Tillsonburg beat them 1st two games without their leading scorer and were missing guys in Port each game. They got beat....

They got beat.... are you referring to stephenson? i count 5 games played in the series. i only saw 1 game of them (game 5) and thought he wasn't very impressive. stats seem to bear that out. maybe he was playing hurt too. anyways, not making excuses, i have no dog in the race. you'll notice i picked tilly to win on condition that if saugeen didn't have their best guys. 2 overtime games, could've went either way. felt bad for the kid in net for saugeen shores, he looked like he was in pain after every shot. tillsonburg has a great team. theres no doubt about that.

Just for the record I picked Tilly to win regardless of Saugeens lineup. Having seen both teams play several times this year my opinion is that Tilsonburg was/is the better team.

Would be kind of a piss off for Dirty Durham to take it to game 7 and not show up.
