I attened two senior AA games this weekend. I know it is not polite to critize, but the referring both games was embarassing. Does anyone else see this, To me it spoils a good game. The players of today are very talented, but they don't need this kind of referring. Just asking

It would be hard to be any worse than the crew in Clinton on Friday night.

This league seems to have improved across the board the last 4-5 years. It is fast pace.
A referee who referees Sr said that "it is tougher than Junior C to skate the pace and keep up physically". We forget these refs are watching, skating, moving all game and getting yapped at. It is a hustle. There is a reason the NHL is picking guys straight out of Junior or top hockey and a big one is just the ability to keep up.
If Joe nobody can see it is faster, then it must be a test for a 40 something referee to keep up, be in position and make quick calls? It is a hockey issue. Recruiting referees capable on strong referee skill, but also and just as important skating skill is a real challenge... and who the hell wants to do it?
I know. I DON'T want to do the job and couldn't even if I did.
ALL that being said, these referee do a pretty solid jobs. We need them or this is just shinyy.
