If the 81's do come back, they'll get their players back...if they want to go back. The league would grant them their releases if the teams don't.

Hello everyone. My name is Sarah Molloy and I am dating Matthew Salituro. I have not been following the WOAA this year, but out of curiosity I decided to check how the teams were doing this season, which has some how lead me to this website. I have noticed there has been some discussion about the Clinton Radars and I would like to set the record straight. Clinton did infact sign too many import players, causing a couple of issues. Only 5 imports are allowed to be iced per game and only 5 imports are allowed to be on the active roster after January. The coach of the Radars called Matt and Stefan numerous times through out the summer to confirm their commitment to the team. The boys were happy to sign again this year with the organization. Only after they had signed with the team did they discover there were too many imports. Both guys were told they were scratched the day before the game for the first 4 games of the season as the coach wanted to play his other import players. After this they respectfully asked to be released from the team so they could play more regularly else where. Their request was denied. Clinton stated the only way they would release them is if they got another team to pay Clinton money for them. The boys felt this was an inappropriate way to handle the situation at this level of hockey and have decided to sit out until January. They may or may not play for a different team for the second half of the season if the opportunity presents itself. Although I have to say this break from hockey has been very nice lol. I apologize for speaking out of place about team information, but I am personally very disappointed with how the organization handled this particular situation. All of the players in this league have dealt with enough hockey politics and bullshit coaches during their junior/pro careers. These players are all adults and would benifit strongly from being told the truth. This a senior hockey league at the end of the day. The players play for fun.
I'm typing this note during the spur of the moment and I'm sure I'll regret posting this tomorrow. I apologize again for speaking out. I just thought I'd shed some light on a situation that was being debated.
I hope everyone enjoys the rest of season. Take care.

Wow, thanks for speaking up on issue and providing clarity. Clinton, grow the fuck up and release the players. This is sr hockey, you're the 2x defending champs with an undefeated record...what are you scared of? I'm sure your 50/50 can provide enough money to pay the players. You said you would release graham next year if he wants to go back...do you really mean it? Why punish players for just wanting to play hockey? Time to show some class and do the right thing.

Hey Tavifan...it was good of your team to let #13 go off to the Winterhawks for no monetary value. Also notice that #97 has been a scratch the last few games...is he injured?? Or just not wanting to play for you anymore? Maybe a free transfer to Saugeen again in the near future??

What good does preventing a player from playing do? It certainly doesn't help promote the league, it doesn't help the current team and will only cause negativity amongst the remaining players. I don't see the point of your post. Yes we release players, other teams have released in our favour and we have released in other teams favours. You're only prolonging the inevitable and looking like real assholes doing it but hey good on ya.

Hey all, I was just asking about your impressions of the early season standings!
I do not nor have ever cared about the individual players or related. Just thoughts on where teams are versus standings last year.
I can understand people wanting to hijack a thread to spread information and/or rumour but all I asked was what say you to the standings?
Surprises? Disappointments?

All things aside, let’s just hope this really isn’t this guys girlfriend coming on a forum to post on his behalf. If I’m not mistaken it says they live in Toronto anyways, why not play somewhere closer to home in the AAA sr league? Just a thought?

I'm sure he would love to play closer to home. Only problem is this thing called a release. Mike77 you're either the coach or gm...why don't you give us Clinton's side of this.

Pretty sure he does not need a release to play for Branford, Dundas etc. I believe that Sr league is under the OHA therefore they don’t need a release to go.

That is correct, no release required to go play in any other league. If they still would like to play in the WOAA ,the Salituro brothers would be import players where ever they go.

Clinton will win again this year. The team is stacked. They're being huge pricks by not releasing players. If they aren't good enough for your team then who cares who the play for? Let the players have fun playing for a different team in my opinion. That's beside the point though. After this weekend I don't see any team coming close to beating them. I call a boring playoffs with Clinton coasting to victory very easily. The rest of the league can fight over second place

MacLean is now playing there now. iIt would be nice to see Virgo playing there also. But let the player play sitting them and not releasing them makes no sense. By releasing them they will make another team stronger and more competitive. Unless you enjoy going to 9 - 1 games.

Have any teams even contacted the Radars inquiring about the releases for the Salituro's? I know im slow at times....but how are the Radars assholes for just not signing releases for a 1st line winger and a 2nd/3rd line winger....for free at that? Teams have made the Radars pay plenty for releases over the years but now they’re just supposed to give players away? Why?? To make the competion better??
