I get it, rules are rules, however, the fact that the appeal came nearly two months after the issue(s) at hand is pathetic. So, the Squires are penalized twice essentially as they lose points AND have zero chance of redemption in order to make it up in the standings. Seems like negligence on the league (and/or board) for allowing things to carry on so far after the issue at hand. Maybe somebody in the know could clarify how long a team has the ability to make an appeal (for whatever the occurrence)? Seems ludacris that it could happen this long after. As for the fact that Seaforth (who allegedly made the appeal) is going to the playoffs over a team that beat them three times this season and outscored them 22-7(?) is embarrassing. Hopefully they reap the rewards of those two playoff games and get there $5000 they anticipate (although I don't think too many Radar fans are going to make the trip to watch a blowout game). Maybe they should have just settled on being the top of the 2nd tier for another year...
The reason the process takes so long is because rosters only get distributed twice a year, mid December and late January. The WOAA office was 2 weeks late getting the rosters out because they were busy trying to cover up that it happened, then after someone protested Dickson spent some more time ignoring it forcing another protest to the WOAA board
You can say what you want about Huron East and it's justified but 2 things to keep in mind are that there was supposedly 7 other teams who filed letters of support to enforce the rules AND these are the same set of rules Petrolia themselves used to go after Clinton and Ripley last season.
