This puts the Squires at 10 points and unable to make the AA playoffs. I am not sure to which teams the 6 points will go to.

Mr Goodacre might go after someone in his own crowd after this news.
Any more details on which players were played illegally? Very tough for the rest of the team having to hear this news, even tougher that it stuffs them into the toilet bowl with no chance of getting out.

@petroliasquires: Due to the team under new management the card for the player simply was lost in the shuffle....the card was emailed in as per league rules but physically never made it....thanks to one team who saw an opportunity to benefit from it was the Squires eliminated from the playoffs

Sounds like a cheap play from another team that is afraid of losing to Petrolia and if the cards where emailed in then it just shows how the league wants Petrolia out. How many people still mail ?? This is 2017/18 league at least move with the times

J-5. All players must be signed on a card prior to their first game (scheduled play) that they participate in to be eligible to play Senior Hockey. All original cards must be delivered to the W.O.A.A. Office "IMMEDIATELY".

Either Milv or the Cents who got the ball rolling on this as they were the only ones to benefit. Being a betting man I would say Cents seeing as they did the same thing last year with a player they had who was suspended that went over to clinton and they lose some points. Rules are Rules, I would love to see Cents/Radars round 1 matchup. I bet Cents are begging for this matchup and Clinton is doing the exact opposite. Although Radars have owned them, by the looks of pointstreak they hung right in there for most of the last two games... could be interesting. Not sad to see Squires go though

The unfortunate part is that the player in question has played for the team for several years and was not a suspended player or someone playing beyond the teams allotted number of cards. While there are league rules in place and a proper procedure, it doesn't appear that anything "tricky" was being done by Petrolia to try to bend the rules.

If you’re writing an exam and it says put your name on it before you hand it in or you get zero. Doesn’t matter if you sat in the front row, if you don’t put your name on the exam, you get a zero.

the rules are the rules. start making exceptions and they don't mean a thing. it's too bad, but it is what it is.

One more thing lost in all this discussion - Lancers jump ahead of Rocks in the standings! Just when they thought they were ready to clinch.

From the scuttle butt going round. The player in question played multiple times before any copy of his card made the office. email, text pic, hard copy or otherwise. Email copies are acceptable. So it seems he played unsigned for a period of time. Rules are rules. If the email was in before they played he would have been fine? So it seems rules were broken, intentional or not. Clinton got stripped last year, Tillsonburg in years past got eliminated from play-offs, tavistock has been stripped, Elora has as well. So why would this be any different. New Gm or otherwise.

Wow, I don't think anyone saw this coming. Lots of chatter on twitter and Facebook. It's simple though,as ppl are saying rules are rules, Goodacre being the GM and the one who is in question from what I'm reading, what a mistake. A lot of excuses from the squires if memory serves me correct they went at ripley for an illegal player last yr and was some commotion on here. Got to be a tough one to swallow, maybe what goes around comes around I'm sure no one is sad to see them go 😂😂

My prediction is that petrolia hands tavi 2 points tonight! Seaforth looses to drives! Then lays a beating on seaforth tomorrow night! Seaforth then looses last game to shelburne to not qualify for AA side! Tavi slips in for 8th!
